OOTD- Covered with Love!

Hey y'all I figured it was about time I updated an OOTD- outfit of the day. This past Sunday, my hubby decided to take me out to dinner- that's two times this past week ( Valentine's night being number one). I was ecstatic because it was another chance to step out of the familiar and try something different. I love those nights where I don't have to cook and can have someone cater to me. Anyways, I was in a happy mood and decided to go for this chic outfit. I got the velvet crimson jacket on sale from Lane Bryant. I previously owned the Plum color but I found out it attracted too much lint so I exchanged it for the crimson color ( and you know I had to get the black too because they had a super duper sale). I think I got them for under $20 with all my coupons and discounts. Yes, I am a certified bargain shopper. Back to the outfit, I got the pink ruffle top from Macys, the black cargo jeggings from Lane Bryant and my bandolino shoes were a part of my Valentines gift from hubby. I think he got them from DSW and I have received so many compliments on how rich the color is. Off to dinner we went and I was feeling "brand new" and walking like I was covered in love.

Sparkle and Shine Amber Riley Style!

Ever since I saw this dress on Amber Riley, I've been oohing and ahhhhing! When I got my Essence Issue for this month, I fell more in love with the rest of her looks! Kudos to her stylist. She looks fabulous and super confident. I love it when I see a I see a curvy lady own it and work it! You go Amber Riley! Well, after I saw the sparkly dress on her, I knew I wanted one for myself ( even though there is no where to wear it to now).  Her dress is by LaQuan Smith and you can check out his site here. Anyways I went looking and I found this ASOS dress that has a risque back and will definitely dazzle at any party you go. My only concern is how to keep the girls up with such a low back but I'm sure where there is a will, there's a way. The dress is currently on sale for $91.44. What do you think? Would you rock it? Or do you have better options??

Eshakti Review

The more I blog and meet people, the more I learn about all the deals out there and new plus size stores to check out. So, when one of my "divas" suggested Eshakti, I said "why not"??? I had heard of them before but had never ordered. I had a field day going through their site especially the sale section and finding lovely items. However, I had to curb my enthusiasm and purchase only one item. I settled on this dress because it looks so effortlessly chic and can be worn  to sooo many places- weddings, dinner date, parties and just about anywhere you need a nice black dress too. I love the detail on the arms and the see through top which adds a little extra "oomph" to the outfit and my favorite part of all is that the dress has pockets- yes, yes yes, pockets to stash lip gloss, cell phone and anything. I have always loved sweetheart neclkline but since I'm boobylicious, I could not bring myself to wear a strapless sweetheart dress. Well, now my problem is solved because I have the sweetheart neckline plus great coverage. Yeahhhhh!!!The other thing I love about Eshakti is that you can customize your order and send them your measurements. They actually have sizes from XS-3XL however they do tend to run small. I was going to add a link to this dress but I may have bought the last one. You can check out other divalicious outfits on www.eshakti.com. I loved my dress so much that I decided to take a few pictures for you all to see. Enjoy!

Plus size and Exercise

So in the light of the new year, we all make resolutions that this is the year we take control of our weight and get in shape. Now you all know, I love curves, hence this blog. However it is extremely important for us as plus sized ladies to be healthy and stay in shape so we can be around to continue to "work it". I do not support being lazy or nonchalant about our health. Like I always say, it is not the number on the scale that matters as much as the other numbers- blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol etc. Although I get scolded at the doctors office about my weight, I can still be thankful that my other numbers are great and most of it I believe is because of exercising and staying active. I decided against the norm to set a goal weight this year- I just want to be happy and healthy and fit! I sometimes get bored with my routine (elliptical and weights) so I decided to go out and get my stuff. I went to Ross and got a step, fitness ball and walking weights. I also got a yoga mat from Marshalls since I plan to begin a yoga class this February (first attempt was an epic fail but this is a beginners class so wish me luck). I dusted my skipping rope and brought my Taebo videos out. I won a fitness assessment at a gym so I plan to take advantage of that in a few weeks. I also scored a one month unlimited bootcamp groupon which I can use between now and July.  Finally I plan to start taking some classes at my gym regardless of whether I can do all the moves or not! Girl Puhleease!!! The ultimate goal is to get myself moving everyday. I found this interesting article a while back that I wanted to share with you ladies- http://bit.ly/gKZ4MD.
Oh by the way, I signed up for an eight week nutrition course just to get myself educated on healthy eating! What do y'all think?

Lift you uppers!!!

Lift you uppers aka Bras are necessities of our everyday lives as women. Too many women are wearing the wrong bra-too small, too big, band's too tight, not enough support, not enough coverage etc. Ever since I came across Cacique bras, I have been a loyal customer. I used to buy bras at Victoria Secrets occasionally but stopped patronizing them when they stopped carrying XL panties in their store. Like seriously????  Anyways, I shred and trash any coupons they send to me because I am beyond upset that they stopped carrying me and thousands of other women's size. What message are they trying to send? If you can't fit into a large then don't bother shopping with them? I got the message loud and clear and decided to stick with my tested and tried Cacique Well...enough of my rants, Lane Bryant is currently having their Cacique semi annual sale and bras are buy 2 get 2 free so I thought I would share my favorite bras with you all. Most I own and some I just lust after. Enjoy!

For the love of Animal Print!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! It's been an eventful one for me and I've had to do lots of woosaah's today but I figured blogging would help ease my stress. Last week was my brother in law's graduation and we visited Dallas, Texas ( my wannabe hometown). I kept going back and forth about what to wear and eventually settled on this number from Lane Bryant. I don't know what my fascination with black and white is, but lately I've been loving that combination. I decided to add a splash of red just for the sexy diva in me.  I got the purse from a boutique in Chicago and I always whip it out when I need to add some classy bling to an outfit. I had to crop myself out of a few pictures but hope you like it!
